TTC Celebrates the Year of the Dragon

The TTC is excited to join Toronto’s East and Southeast Asian communities in our celebration of Lunar New Year.

In honour of this joyous holiday, we're transforming some of our iconic streetcars and buses with special designs. 2024 marks the Year of the Dragon, which symbolizes power, courage, luck, and success. From February 10 to February 26, you’ll find this majestic creature adorning our vehicles, along with cheerful New Year greetings in multiple Asian languages, including Chinese, Indonesian, Korean, Malay, Mongolian, Tagalog, Thai, Tibetan, and Vietnamese.

Decorated streetcars and buses will be cruising through Toronto’s Chinatowns and serving routes in Malvern, Scarborough, and East York:

  • 510 Spadina
  • 506 Carlton
  • 25 Don Mills
  • 39 Finch
  • 102 Markham

As you ring in Lunar New Year by visiting loved ones, enjoying dragon and lion dance performances, and savouring Toronto’s world-class Asian cuisine, don’t forget to hop on board our festive vehicles. Share your photos and videos on Instagram, X, and Facebook using #LNYxTTC.
