Take the TTC to FIFA World Cup 2026™

Toronto is weeks away from welcoming the world for FIFA World Cup 2026™, and the TTC is thrilled to help get fans to the action as they cheer on teams in six matches at Toronto Stadium (at Exhibition Place) between June 12 and July 2, and festivities from June 10 to July 19 at the FIFA Fan Festival™ Toronto at Fort York National Historic Site and The Bentway.

Toronto is one of the most multicultural cities in the world, represented by more than 200 nationalities. Canada’s largest city is one defined by its diversity, distinct neighbourhoods, renowned food scene and vibrant festive gatherings that help connect communities.

From the historic first kickoff between Canada and Bosnia and Herzegovina at Toronto Stadium on Friday, June 12 to the final whistle of the tournament on Sunday, July 19, the TTC is here to get you where you need to go, offering enhanced and expanded service on match days to and from Toronto Stadium and FIFA Fan Festival™ Toronto. Additional staff and special events ambassadors will also be stationed at key locations throughout the city, ready and waiting to help get you to where you need to go. 

Please note: Finalized service schedules for match days and non-match days will be posted closer to the start of the tournament.

  • Connecting to the TTC from Toronto airports

    From Toronto Pearson Airport: 

    900 Airport Express

    The 900 Airport Express route provides all-day service between Toronto Pearson Airport and Kipling Station on Line 2 (Bloor-Danforth). The following routes also travel to and from the airport:

    You can also take the UP Express between Toronto Pearson Airport, Mount Dennis Station (Line 5 Eglinton), Bloor GO Station (Line 2 Bloor-Danforth) and Union Station (Line 1 Yonge-University) to connect to the streetcar, subway, Light Rail Transit (LRT) and downtown Toronto. Please note: Ontario’s One Fare program does not apply to travel on UP Express.

    From Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport: 

    To Union Station: 

    509 Harbourfront streetcars operate to Union Station. Walk along Eireann Quay from the mainland terminal to Bathurst Street, to the Bathurst and Queens Quay West stop. Take an eastbound streetcar to Union Station. 

    To Bathurst Station: 

    511 Bathurst streetcars operate to Bathurst Station. Walk along Eireann Quay from the mainland terminal, continue on Bathurst Street to Fleet Street, to the Fleet Street at Bathurst Street stop. Take a northbound streetcar to Bathurst Station.  

  • Enhanced and expanded match day service

    TTC will have enhanced and expanded service for all six FIFA World Cup 2026™ Toronto matches.

    Expanded subway service

    TTC Subway train

    The TTC will increase service on Line 1 (Yonge-University) and Line 2 (Bloor-Danforth) to ensure seamless connections to bus and streetcar routes to take soccer fans to and from Toronto Stadium.

    Subway service operates until approximately 1:30 a.m. but will be extended to operate later on the following nights to accommodate multiple events in the city: 

    • Friday, June 12
    • Wednesday, June 17
    • Tuesday, June 23
    • Thursday, July 12
    • Friday, July 3
    • Saturday, July 11

    Overnight service

    While the match clock during the tournament stops at 90 minutes, ours doesn’t. The TTC operates 24/7 and will keep you moving from the big game and beyond. 

    The TTC’s Blue Night Network provides overnight bus and streetcar service throughout the city, every 30 minutes or better. Most overnight streetcar routes operate every 20 minutes or better.

    Enhanced service 

    There will be enhanced service on the following bus and streetcar routes: 

    Bus service from Dufferin Station to Dufferin Gate Loop (near Toronto Stadium): 

    • 29 Dufferin and 929 Dufferin Express from Dufferin Station on Line 2 to Dufferin Gate Loop. Buses will operate in dedicated rapid transit lanes to ensure buses can move seamlessly. 
    • On match days, 829 Dufferin Gate Express buses will provide non-stop service between Dufferin Station to Dufferin Gate Loop on match days only.

  • Taking the TTC to Toronto Stadium and FIFA Fan Festival™

    Line 1 (Yonge-University) - Union Station

    • Take the 509 Harbourfront streetcar to Fleet Hub (Fleet Street between Strachan Avenue and Fort York Boulevard) for FIFA Fan Festival™ Toronto and Toronto Stadium.

    Line 2 (Bloor-Danforth) - Bathurst Station

    • Take the 511 Bathurst streetcar to Fleet Hub for FIFA Fan Festival™ and Toronto Stadium.

    Line 2 (Bloor-Danforth) - Dufferin Station

    504 King:

    Customers can access a 504 King streetcar from the following stations:  

    Line 1 (Yonge-University)

    • St Andrew Station and King Station (along King Street West.) 

    Line 2 (Bloor-Danforth)

    • Dundas West Station and Broadview Station. 

    504 King customers can exit at King Street West and Bathurst Street and transfer to a southbound 511 Bathurst streetcar to connect to Fleet Hub.

  • Accessible Wheel-Trans service

    TTC Wheel-Trans vehicle

    On demand Wheel-Trans service will be available throughout the tournament. Trips can be prebooked up to seven days in advance.

    Visitors to Toronto with access to a specialized transit service in their home province, territory or country can access the TTC Wheel-Trans Service for up to 30 days without having to apply to Wheel-Trans. Learn more on the Visitors to Toronto page

  • TTC parking lots

    Commuter parking is available at the following TTC stations: 

    Paid commuter parking at TTC lots is available Monday to Friday between 5 a.m. to 2 a.m. (see conditions of each lot) and is free on weekends and holidays where applicable (please see conditions of each lot.) 

    Please note: No overnight parking allowed at any lot between 2 a.m. and 5 a.m. every day. 

  • Fares and Proof-of-Payment

    Ways to Pay

    Interac® Debit or credit cards

    • An Interac® Debit card or credit card is the fastest way to pay your fare on the TTC.
    • Each person over the age of 12 must tap their own card or device.

    PRESTO Card

    • Customers can load a mobile PRESTO card for free or buy a physical card for $4 at subway station vending machines, LRT stops on Line 5 Eglinton and Line 6 Finch West or from a PRESTO Customer Service Outlet such as Shoppers Drug Mart or Loblaws.
    • PRESTO cards are ideal for customers who may require a specific type of fare, such as youth or seniors. Fare type changes must be done in person with government‑issued photo ID at a PRESTO Customer Service Outlet.

    PRESTO Tickets

    • Single‑ride, two‑ride, and day pass tickets available at subway station vending machines, LRT stops on Line 5 Eglinton and Line 6 Finch West, and Shoppers Drug Mart or Loblaws.
    • Tickets can be purchased in advance and activated on first use.
    • Each person over the age of 12 must tap their own card or device.

    Cash payment

    Cash fares are accepted on the TTC (exact fare only, no change provided)

    Deposit coins or bills in:

    • Fare boxes at stations and on buses
    • Fare vending machines on streetcars and LRT platforms

    Customers should make sure to get a paper transfer from a fare vending machine, bus Operator or transfer machine for Proof‑of‑Payment.

    Please note: Cash fares are for one-way trips only and do not include a two-hour transfer.

    How to Pay

    • Tap an Interac® Debit card, credit card, PRESTO card, PRESTO Ticket, or PRESTO in Mobile Wallet before entering a fare gate or boarding a vehicle.
    • A two‑hour transfer is automatically applied from your first tap. Customers must tap their card every time, including when transferring and will not be charged another fare within the two‑hour window.
    • TTC to GO Transit transfers are free. Tap on and off with the same payment method when completing your GO or UP Express trip.

    Proof-of-Payment

    A tapped Interac® Debit or credit card, digital or physical PRESTO card or PRESTO Ticket is your Proof-of-Payment. It must be carried at all times and must be shown on request. 

  • Safety tips while travelling on the TTC

    The TTC is committed to ensuring everyone feels safe on the system, and is strengthening coverage and visibility across the network for FIFA World Cup 2026™:

    • Increased deployment of Special Constables will enhance systemwide coverage, support vulnerable customers, and allow for quicker response when issues arise. 
    • A new Core Response Bicycle Unit will add mobility and agility during the tournament.
    • Expanded Provincial Offences Officer presence will support fare compliance and contribute to overall system safety through high visibility enforcement.
    • Additional contract security guards will broaden frontline coverage and support proactive monitoring across stations and vehicles, helping deter unsafe behaviour.

    Customers who require support at any time on the system can: 

    • Call 911 in the event of an emergency.
    • Download the SafeTTC app for free from the Apple App or Google Play stores. The mobile app offers a quick and discreet method for reporting harassment, safety concerns or suspicious activity directly to the TTC’s Transit Control Centre.

    Speak to the following TTC employees:

    At a station:

    • Speak to the station Customer Service Agent or a TTC employee.
    • Use the Passenger Assistance Intercom at the entrance or at the Designated Waiting Area on the platform.

    On a bus/streetcar:

    • Speak to the Operator on a bus.

    • Push the intercom to speak the Operator on a streetcar, or use the emergency alarm. 

    On a subway or LRT vehicle: 

    In the event of a medical emergency that requires police, fire or ambulance, push the yellow strip above the window on a subway train. The train will travel into the station, and an Operator will come to assist.

    TTC staff, including Special Constables, will be available throughout the system and in key locations in the downtown core to assist at any time.

  • Lost Articles 

    The TTC Lost Articles Office is located at Bay Station on Line 2 (Bloor-Danforth) and is open Monday to Friday from 8 a.m. to 4:45 p.m. (closed on statutory holidays.) Call 416-393-4100 from Monday to Friday from noon to 5 p.m. to inquire about a lost item. 

  • Bike Share Toronto

    Bike Share Toronto offers 24/7 convenient access to bikes across Toronto’s neighbourhoods with stations located adjacent to many TTC subway stations, including at Dufferin Station, Bathurst Station and Union Station.
