Paying a fare and Proof-of-Payment
Quick tips:
- Credit/debit cards are the fastest way to pay. However, each person over the age of 12 will be required to tap a separate card to pay a fare.
- A PRESTO card can be loaded to a mobile device for free, or a physical card can be purchased for $4 from a Fare Vending Machine at a subway station. The cards can be loaded with money for pay-as-you-go travel.
Note: PRESTO cards need to be set to deduct a youth or senior fare. This can be done at Shoppers Drug Mart locations, or other PRESTO Customer Service Outlet. Government issued ID required.
Your tapped PRESTO, debit or credit card, or mobile device is your Proof-of-Payment. Be prepared to show it at any point in your journey.
