Summer Student Opportunities
The TTC is currently accepting applications for the Summer Student Program, employment to tentatively commence on May 1, 2023, to August 25, 2023.
These temporary positions are for students returning to school full-time in 2023. Please note certain positions will require a class-G license.
Our goal is to provide as many students as possible the opportunity to gain valuable work experience and the skills they need to enter the workforce while supporting the business needs of the TTC.

Summer Student Program (G License or Equivalent Required) (6736)
Last Day to Apply: March 10, 2023
Car house Operator:
- Sweep, dust and wash interior and exterior of streetcars. May be assigned special assignments throughout the summer which may include working at different locations; i.e. end of the line cleaning.
Service person (may involve janitorial work):
- Cleaning interior and exterior of buses which involves mopping, washing, dusting, vacuuming, sweeping. Degumming, graffiti removal, cleaning of unsanitary buses, seat cleaning, etc., using a variety of specialized cleaning equipment. This position may require operating steam cleaning equipment.
Revenue Collector:
- Performing a variety of duties for the collection and transport of uncounted revenue receipts from the Divisional offices and subway stations to the Patten building processing facility.

Carhouse Helper (vehicle cleaner):
- Sweep, dust and wash interior and exterior of subway cars. Candidates be assigned special assignments throughout the summer which may include working at different subway stations; i.e. end of the line cleaning.
Subway Janitor, Bus / Streetcar Divisions / T&S Buildings Janitor, TTC Office Buildings Janitor:
- Perform routine janitorial duties including sweeping, mopping, garbage, recycling, scrubbing and polishing various surfaces.
Grounds Maintainer:
- Perform routine landscaping duties as well as general labourer duties. Cut grass using self-propelled riding or small power lawn mowers.
