Bus Maintenance and Shops is responsible for keeping TTC buses safe, reliable, and ready for service. The team inspects, services, and repairs city buses, Wheel-Trans vehicles, and other support vehicles across Toronto.
From routine checks to major repairs, the group uses modern tools and up-to-date training to maintain our diesel, hybrid, and electric buses so riders can count on consistent, dependable service.

Featured roles in the Bus Maintenance and Shops program:
310T Apprentice – This position will allow you to obtain all the required skill sets outlined by Skilled Trades Ontario by successfully completing approximately 6,700 hours of training (approximately 3–4 years). You will work under the direction of a licensed Coach Technician and acquire knowledge and skills on a variety of automotive systems and components.
310T Coach Technicians – You will play a vital role in maintaining the safety, reliability, and performance of a diverse fleet of passenger vehicles, including diesel, gasoline and hybrid powered coaches. This is more than just a maintenance role – it’s a hands-on opportunity to work with cutting-edge transportation systems and make a real impact on passenger safety and comfort.
Garage Foreperson – Lead the charge behind the scenes. We’re looking for Team Leaders for any of our 10 city bus garages to lead daily operations in a fast-paced maintenance environment. You’ll oversee both unionized and non-unionized teams, ensuring safety, efficiency, and meeting service delivery. From inspections and repairs to emergency road service, you’ll help keep Toronto’s fleet clean, reliable, and road-ready—every single day.
Senior Foreperson – Drive leadership at the highest level. You are a proven leader in overseeing frontline teams and operations with a strong focus on safety, efficiency, and cost control. As a Senior Foreperson, you’ll manage both unionized and non-union staff, ensuring performance aligns with business goals while fostering a culture of accountability and operational excellence.
