Regional transit and subway connections

Transit hubs

Passengers can connect with regional transit at Mount Dennis Station for Kitchener GO and UP express, and at Kennedy Station for Stouffville GO.

Interchange stations

Passengers can connect with the subway without leaving the fare paid zone at Cedarvale or Eglinton stations for Line 1 and Kennedy Station for Line 2.

Bus service and connections

All stations connect with TTC bus routes. There are bus terminals inside the fare paid area at Mount Dennis, Cedarvale, Eglinton, Science Centre and Kennedy stations.

There are bus loops outside the fare paid area at Keelesdale and Caledonia stations.

At all other stations, bus connections are made on the street.

Line 5 will mostly replace the east-west bus services historically provided on much of Eglinton Avenue by the 32 Eglinton West, 34 Eglinton East, and other routes. There will be many connections between Line 5 and TTC bus routes. Bus routes that connect to Line 5 will have routing, service and stop changes.

A revised local bus service will continue to be provided along the new Line 5, operating on-street from Kennedy Station in the east to Mount Dennis Station in the west.

Vehicle type

[INCLUDE MAKE/MODEL?]

The light rail vehicles (LRVs) on Line 5 are similar to our low floor streetcars and use overhead power collected by pantograph. Unlike streetcars, the LRVs have doors on both sides and have two coupled together.

Line 5 LRVs have a self-levelling system that enables accessible level boarding at all stations and stops without using ramps.
There are no PRESTO fare payment machines onboard.

Yellow emergency alarm strips beside the windows allow customers in any part of the train to notify the operator about a problem or emergency. Emergency intercom terminals at every doorway and both multipurpose areas, allow customers to speak with the operator.
