Lawrence Station main entrance closure
Lawrence Station’s main entrances at Yonge Street and Lawrence Avenue will be closed until mid-2025 for the next phase of Easier Access work to install elevators at the southwest main entrance.
Access to and from the station will only be available at the secondary north entrances on Yonge Street at Ranleigh Avenue and Bedford Park Avenue.
During this closure, customers will need to walk approximately 2-3 blocks to or from the entrances on Ranleigh and Bedford Park Avenue to access the stops for the 11C Bayview, 52G Lawrence West and 162 Lawrence-Donway on Lawrence Avenue.
162 Lawrence-Donway continues to serve an on-street stop outside of Lawrence Station at Yonge Street and Lawrence Avenue. Buses have been extended to Lawrence Avenue and Avenue Road.
52 Lawrence West and 952 Lawrence West Express continue to divert to Eglinton Station via Avenue Road and Eglinton Avenue West. Customers must travel to Eglinton Station to board these buses.
Customers travelling to Sunnybrook Hospital can:
- Board 11C Bayview and 52G Lawrence West buses on-street outside Lawrence Station at Lawrence Avenue and Yonge Street.
- 11C Bayview has been extended to Lawrence Avenue and Avenue Road. The route will continue to serve the Sunnybrook Hospital campus.
- Customers can also travel south on Line 1 to Davisville Station and board 11C Bayview buses. Davisville Station is accessible.
- 52G Lawrence West has been extended to Sunnybrook Hospital via Lawrence Avenue East and Bayview Avenue.
Subway service remains unaffected and will be maintained throughout construction; however, there will be no escalator service between the concourse and street level.
TRAVEL TIP: Customers can take 97 Yonge northbound from Eglinton Station or 97 southbound from York Mills Station to get to Lawrence Avenue. Eglinton and York Mills stations are accessible.

As part of the TTC’s Easier Access Program, Lawrence Station is under construction to make the station accessible.
The Easier Access improvements will include:
- Two new elevators which will connect customers from the station entrance to the bus terminal and subway levels.
- New stairs from platform to concourse level of the station.
- Improved wayfinding and signage throughout the station.
- Accessible sliding doors at the main entrance and barrier free doors throughout station.
Due to this construction, the station’s bus terminal remains closed and the station’s main entrances at Yonge Street and Lawrence Avenue must close for approximately one year.
