954 Lawrence East Express

On August 24, 2023, Line 3 was permanently closed and train service replaced with express bus service between Kennedy and Scarborough Centre stations. McCowan, Midland, Ellesmere and Lawrence East stations are also permanently close.

As part of the Line 3 Bus Replacement Plan, the western end point of 954 Lawrence East Express will be moved from Lawrence East Station to Kennedy Station, using the new interim priority route with a dedicated bus lane southbound on Midland Avenue and northbound on Kennedy Road.

Service will operate as follows:

• Westbound: from Lawrence Avenue to west of Midland Avenue, turning back east via the service road, east on Lawrence Avenue, south on Midland Avenue and west on Eglinton Avenue, to Kennedy Station, boarding at Bay 8. Additional stops will be made on Lawrence Avenue East at Midland Avenue and on Midland Avenue at Eglinton Avenue East.
• Eastbound: from Kennedy Station, west on Eglinton Avenue, north on Kennedy Road and east on Lawrence Avenue, to its regular route. Additional stops will be made on Kennedy Road at Eglinton Avenue East and Lawrence Avenue East.
• Express service will continue to run between Kennedy Station and Markham Road and local service will continue to serve all regular stops east of Markham Road to Starspray Loop (Starspray Blvd.)

TTC and Rouge Hill GO Transit customers using this route now have a direct connection to Line 2 at Kennedy Station without having to transfer.

Customers not wanting to travel to Kennedy Station can use 54 Lawrence East as an alternate.
