TTC pavement rehabilitation completed early at Sheppard West Station

TTC commuters who normally park at Sheppard West Station now have about 50 additional spaces available with pavement rehabilitation work completed ahead of schedule.

“Thanks to proactive planning, important work at Sheppard West Station has been completed earlier than anticipated. By prioritizing these essential construction projects, we are ensuring the long-term viability of the critical infrastructure that will continue to support our transit network for years to come,” said TTC Chair Jaye Robinson.

“This is another example of the TTC taking steps to advance necessary state-of-good-repair work while limiting customer inconvenience during a period of reduced ridership. I’d like to thank our customers for their patience and understanding,” said TTC CEO Rick Leary.

Upgrades at the Line 1 station include new concrete in the bus roadway, resurfaced asphalt along the access driveways and passenger pick-up/drop-off area and light poles in the bus terminal replaced with energy efficient fixtures.

Bus routes that were previously diverted to the temporary bus terminal at the taxi stand will be returned to the main bus terminal at their original platforms. The 984B Sheppard West Express branch will also return to the bus terminal and no longer divert on street. The taxi stand at the station was returned to its original location on Nov. 27, providing more customer convenience.

Landscaping and other miscellaneous work will be wrapped up next spring.

Sheppard West Station, at Sheppard Avenue West and Allen Road, has more than 630 commuter lot spaces.
