Portion of TTC Line 1 to close early next Monday to Thursday

The portion of Line 1 between Lawrence and Bloor-Yonge stations will close nightly at 11 p.m. next Monday through Thursday (Oct. 7-10) as TTC crews continue installation of the Automatic Train Control (ATC) signalling system.

Shuttle buses will run along Yonge St., stopping at each station along the route. Summerhill Station will be closed, but all other stations will remain open for fare sales and access to surface routes. TTC staff will be on hand to direct customers to shuttle loading and offloading locations, which will vary from station to station.

Wheel-Trans will be available upon request from any station. As Lawrence Station is not yet accessible, customers requiring an accessible connection should use York Mills Station instead. Customers can speak with a TTC staff member for more information about service frequency.

While the TTC does most subway maintenance at the conclusion of service each night, it continues to require weekend and early weeknight closures to complete critical infrastructure and ATC upgrades.

The TTC is committed to keeping customers informed about work and events that impact service and about alternative routes. For the most up-to-date information, follow @TTCNotices on Twitter or sign up for eAlerts.
