A portion of TTC Line 1 to open late this Sunday


This Sun., May 26 only, the portion of Line 1 between St Clair and Union stations will open at 10 a.m. to allow TTC crews to continue upgrading the ATC signal system.

Summerhill and Wellesley stations will be closed but all others will remain open for fare sales and access to surface routes.

Shuttles will stop outside each station along the route until full service resumes on the subway at 10 a.m. Wheel-Trans will be available upon request from any station. Customers can speak with a TTC staff member for more information about service frequency.

Next week

Next Mon. through Thurs. nights, May 27-30, the portion of the TTC’s Line 1 between Eglinton and Bloor stations will close at 11 p.m. for track maintenance.

Shuttle buses will run, stopping at each station along the route. Summerhill Station will be closed, but all others will remain open for fare sales and access to surface routes. Shuttle loading and offloading locations will vary from station to station. TTC staff will be on hand to direct customers and answer questions.

Wheel-Trans will be available upon request from any station. Customers can speak with a TTC staff member for more information about service frequency.

While the TTC does most subway maintenance at the conclusion of service each night, it continues to require weekend and early weeknight closures to complete critical infrastructure and maintenance upgrades.
