Reminder: TTC’s Line 3 to close this Saturday only

The TTC is reminding customers that this Sat., Nov. 17, there will be a one-day closure on Line 3 Scarborough as TTC crews carry out maintenance and state of good repair work. Periodic Line 3 closures are required as the TTC undertakes a complete life-extension rehabilitation of the tracks and vehicles to provide a more reliable and comfortable service over the next 10 years. The line will be decommissioned following the opening of the Scarborough Subway Extension.

Shuttle buses will run, operating via Midland Ave. to Scarborough Centre Station, with stops at Kennedy, Lawrence East, Ellesmere, Midland and Scarborough Centre stations. Lawrence East Station will be serviced at Lawrence Ave. E. and Midland Ave., and Ellesmere Station will be serviced at Lawrence Ave. E. and Ellesmere Rd.

Ellesmere, Midland and McCowan stations will be closed but all other stations will remain open for fare sales and transfers to surface routes. All local surface connections will continue to run as scheduled.

Wheel-Trans will be available upon request from any station during the weekend. Customers can speak with a TTC staff member to request Wheel-Trans service from any station and for information about service frequency. Kennedy Station is accessible.

Also this weekend, the annual Santa Claus Parade will be held Sun., Nov. 18. The following TTC routes will divert to accommodate the parade:

- 5 Avenue Rd
- 6 Bay
- 72B Pape
- 75 Sherbourne
- 94AC Wellesley
- 121 Fort York- Esplanade
- 126 Christie
- 161 Rogers Rd
- 300 Bloor-Danforth

The 7 Bathurst, 26 Dupont, 63 Ossington, 501 Queen, 504 King, 505 Dundas, 506 Carlton, and 511 Bathurst may also experience longer than normal travel/wait times as a result of the parade.
