Reminder: Signal upgrades on TTC Line 1 this weekend


The TTC is reminding customers that this weekend, March 10-11, the portion of Line 1 Yonge-University between St Clair West and Union stations will be closed for installation work on the new Automatic Train Control (ATC) signal system.

Throughout the closure, express shuttle buses will run between Spadina and St Clair West stations only. The TTC encourages customers to use the following alternatives:

- Line 2 Bloor-Danforth

- Yonge portion of Line 1

- 6 Bay bus

- East-west streetcars on St Clair, College, Dundas, Queen and King Sts. to connect with the Yonge portion of Line 1

Wheel-Trans service will be available between St Clair West and Union Stations for customers requiring an accessible connection. To request service, customers can speak with TTC staff at any location throughout the closure.

St Clair West, Spadina, St George and Union stations will be open for fare sales and connections to surface vehicles. All other stations on this part of Line 1 will be closed.

The TTC is committed to keeping our customers informed about subway closures and alternative routes. Also, this March Break, customers can purchase a Group/Day Pass for one day of unlimited travel on the TTC. From Sat., March 10 to Sun., March 18, individuals or groups can explore the city for just $12.50/day. A group can be one adult and up to five youths (13-19 years old) or two adults and up to four youths. Children 12 and under always ride for free.

TTC Day Passes are available for purchase in advance or day-of at participating TTC Fare Agents and at subway stations, except Vaughan Metropolitan Centre, Highway 407, Pioneer Village, York University, Finch West, Downsview Park, Sheppard West and Wilson.
