TTC subway upgrades and maintenance this weekend

There will be no subway service on Line 3 (Scarborough) this weekend - July 4-5 - as the Toronto Transit Commission conducts scheduled track work and maintenance.

Replacement buses will operate between McCowan and Kennedy stations, stopping at all Line 3 stations and, upon request, at other stops along the route. Wheel-Trans will be available for customers who require accessible transit. Customers can speak with any uniformed TTC employee to make use of this service.

Collector booths at Kennedy, Lawrence East and Scarborough Centre stations will remain open for the sale of TTC fares. Midland, Ellesmere and McCowan stations will be closed.

Regular subway service will resume on Mon., July 5 at 6 a.m.

This is the third of five scheduled Line 3 closures this year as the TTC undertakes a complete rehabilitation of the tracks and vehicles to provide a more reliable and comfortable service over the next 10 years. The line will be decommissioned following the opening of the Scarborough Subway Extension. The next Line 3 closure is scheduled for Sept. 26-27.

This Sunday, there will be a late opening only on a portion of Line 2 (Bloor-Danforth) between St George and Pape stations as the TTC conducts beam and track work on the Bloor viaduct.  Replacement buses will operate along Bloor St. and Danforth Ave.  Wheel-Trans will be available for customers who require accessible transit. Customers can speak with any uniformed TTC employee to make use of this service.

Full subway service will resume at noon on Sunday.
