Head back to school on the TTC

The Toronto Transit Commission is reminding students heading back to school to purchase their appropriate 2012-2013 TTC Student or Post-Secondary Student Photo ID card. Once you have this card you can use the TTC’s $104 a month Student or Post-Secondary Student Metropass and enjoy unlimited travel. Students can purchase a TTC Student Discount Card Photo ID  at their scheduled  on-site photo session or at the TTC’s central Photo ID facility located at Sherbourne Station.

High school students, between 13 and 19 years of age, who live or attend high school in Toronto, must show a TTC Student Discount Card Photo ID every time they pay a fare. Students can use a monthly Student Metropass, Student Weekly Pass, Student Ticket or can pay exact Student cash fare.

Post-Secondary School Students must show a  Post-Secondary TTC Student Photo ID every time they use a monthly Post-Secondary Student Metropass, and they must be a full-time student at an accredited academic post-secondary institution in Toronto. For all other fare transactions, Post-Secondary students must use the Adult Weekly Pass, Adult Token or Adult cash fare.

Post-Secondary TTC Student  Photo ID’s have been available at the Sherbourne Station Photo ID Facility since Wednesday, August 15. The TTC Student Discount Card Photo ID will be available on Tuesday, September 4.

Metropasses are available from TTC Collectors and Pass Vending Machines in subway stations or at participating TTC Fare Media Sellers.
