TTC to participate in Earth Hour

Saturday, March 28 is Earth Hour, and the TTC will join millions of Canadians in turning off all non-essential lighting at TTC facilities in support of action on climate change.

All non-essential lights will be turned off at TTC administrative buildings, and major repair facilities such as Harvey and Duncan Shops at the Hillcrest complex.

“The TTC is a proud participant in Earth Hour,” said TTC Chair Adam Giambrone.  “Of course, environmentally speaking, the TTC is by its very nature a good way to save energy and reduce emissions all year long, but during Earth Hour, we go even further by reducing behind-the-scenes energy consumption.”

The TTC encourages everyone to help the environment, and take the TTC to the Earth Hour free concert at Nathan Phillips Square this Saturday night at 7 p.m.
