Project update
Market conditions have changed since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic concerning the cost of work and the availability of materials which impacted work to make the station accessible. Labour strikes in mid-2022 by several unions also directly impacted the progress of construction work. This included crane and heavy equipment operators, carpenters, and other labourers that are critical to Easier Access work. Project schedules have been reviewed and elevators are scheduled to be in service at Rosedale Station by Q3 2025.
In 2024, the architectural façade enclosed the buildings, allowing for the installation of elevator equipment and key electrical and mechanical systems.
This year, the contractor is completing the final architectural finishes to the elevator lobbies. TTC is also in the final stages of testing and commissioning all installed equipment to ensure a safe and seamless experience for TTC customers.
