Using PRESTO on TTC buses in York Region and Mississauga

PRESTO readers on TTC buses that operate in York Region or Mississauga are not currently set up to collect YRT and/or MiWay fares, only TTC fares. You can use your PRESTO card to pay your TTC fare if you board the bus in Toronto. When you leave the bus in York Region or Mississauga you must pay your YRT and/or MiWay fare as you do today (TTC fare plus a supplement, cash or YRT and/or MiWay fare product). The same applies for the reverse. When you board a TTC bus in York Region or Mississauga you must deposit your YRT and/or MiWay fare or cash in the fare box. If you want to pay your TTC fare by PRESTO, you must tap your card when you leave the bus in Toronto.

York Region Transit (YRT)

Additional Fares Required North of Steeles Avenue

Effective July 1, 2017

  • Adult: $4.00 exact cash
  • Senior/Child: $4.00 exact cash
  • Youth (High School): $4.00 exact cash
  • Valid YRT/Viva tickets or passes are also accepted.

An applicable TTC fare with a cash supplement will be accepted if the customer does not have YRT/Viva fare:

  • Adults: TTC token +  65¢
  • Seniors: TTC Senior/Student Ticket + 25¢
  • Student: (High School): TTC Senior/Student Ticket + 80¢
  • Seniors must show appropriate proof of age (65+).
  • Youth (High School) must present a valid High School Student ID card.

Children are elementary school age and under (6-12). Children under the age of 1 always ride for free. One child 1 year of age but not yet 6 years of age may ride for free with an accompanying adult. Each additional child travelling with the same adult must pay the child fare.

YRT/GO Fare Integration

The appropriate valid GO Transit fare will be accepted to or from connecting GO train or train-bus trips at York Region GO Train stations, with a cash supplement of $1.00.

As there is no YRT bus stop directly at the Mount Joy GO Station, the following stops on Route 102D will be considered stops for the Mount Joy GO Station:

Northbound - 105 Anderson

Southbound - On Markham Road at Bur Oak Avenue

Service in York Region is operated by the TTC for YRT. An additional fare is required when crossing the Toronto boundary in either direction. MiWay (City of Mississauga)

Additional Fares Required on 52 Lawrence West - West of Jetliner Road & Airport Road

Effective May 1, 2017

  • $3.50 exact cash or MiWay Adult, Senior, Youth, Child ticket or transfer.

An applicable TTC fare with a cash supplement will be accepted if the customer does not have MiWay fare:

  • Adult: TTC token  +  10¢
  • Youth: TTC Student ticket +  20¢
  • Seniors: TTC Senior ticket   +  5¢

Transfer privileges to and from MiWay routes apply. Youth (ages 13 to 19) and full-time Post-Secondary Students must carry any form of I.D., showing age.

Rides are free for pre-school children accompanied by a fare paying customer, customers who present a CNIB card upon boarding, and one support person (a person whose presence is essential to provide care and assistance to a person with a disability) accompanying a disabled customer. A support person accompanying a customer who presents a CNIB card upon boarding must pay a regular fare. Senior $1 Cash Fare does not apply.

TTC Metropass, Day Pass, Weekly Pass, and Convention Pass are not valid for travel in the Mississauga Fare Zone.

Service west of Jetliner Road and Airport Road on the 52 LAWRENCE WEST route is operated by the TTC for the City of Mississauga and an additional fare is required when crossing the fare zone boundary, in either direction.
