How to buy fares and passes

All you need to know about purchasing fares and passes when you travel with the TTC

You need a PRESTO Card, one-ride, two-ride or day pass PRESTO Ticket, transfer, debit or credit card including those in your mobile wallet, or exact cash to pay your fare on the TTC. Operators on buses and streetcars do not sell fares or carry change, so you must have a form of payment ready before you board a vehicle.

You can load a digital PRESTO card, for free, in your Google or Apple Wallets.

You can also purchase a PRESTO card for $4 and load it with money for pay-as-you-go travel or a monthly pass for unlimited travel, at the Fare Vending Machines at all subway stations. You can also purchase a one-ride, two-ride or day pass PRESTO Ticket at these machines as well. PRESTO cards and PRESTO Tickets are also available at all Shoppers Drug Mart locations, online at prestocard.ca and at the TTC Customer Service Centre, above Davisville Station.

If you require your card to deduct a youth, post-secondary or senior fare, or want to load a youth, post-secondary or senior, monthly pass onto your card, you will need to take it to a Shoppers Drug Mart location or to the TTC Customer Service Centre, above Davisville Station to change the setting on your card. You must bring government issued identification or yourTTC post-secondary photo identification card.

TTC tickets, tokens and day passes

TTC no longer accepts youth/senior tickets, tokens and TTC day passes (PRESTO day passes are still accepted) for fare payment. Refunds, exchanges or credits for previously purchased and unused TTC tickets, tokens or day passes will not be provided.
