Transit Operators work across four core modes of service, each with its own environment, operating conditions, and customer needs. Placements are assigned with consideration for candidate preferences, suitability, operational requirements, and availability.

Provide accessible, door-to-door transit service for customers who require additional care and support. This role involves safely transporting and assisting passengers with dignity, patience, and professionalism, while supporting accessibility and inclusion across the city.

Bus Operator

Operate across the city’s largest and most diverse transit network. This role involves navigating traffic, weather, and changing routes while delivering a high level of customer service. Operators are visible, engaged, and essential to the daily rider experience. 

Streetcar Operator

Operate along fixed routes in busy, pedestrian-heavy corridors. This role requires strong technical awareness, precision, and focus while managing shared road space and maintaining consistent service along high-demand routes.

Subway Operator

Operate trains within a highly controlled and safety-critical environment. This role is structured, technical, and independent, requiring strong attention to detail, discipline, and readiness to respond to system protocols and procedures.
