Streetcar Service Changes

501/301 Queen
There are a number of service changes affecting this route.
September 29 (10 p.m.) to October 2 (4 a.m.): Intersection closed to all pedestrian and vehicle traffic between McGee and De Grassi streets
- 501D Queen / 301 Queen buses will divert both ways via Broadview Avenue, Dundas Street East, Carlaw Avenue and Queen Street East, to their regular routes.
- Customers can transfer to a 501B Queen bus at Church and Richmond streets, if they want to continue west to Bathurst Street. Alternatively they can also take a 503 Kingston Road bus to King and York streets, to get downtown.
- 72A Pape, 501D Queen and 503 Kingston Road buses will divert both ways via Broadview Avenue, Dundas Street and Carlaw Avenue, to their regular routes.
- 505 Dundas streetcars will continue to divert both ways via Broadview Avenue, Gerrard Street East and Coxwell Avenue. The route will be shortened and end at Kingston-Queen Loop.
October 2 (5 a.m.) to October 8: Intersection at Queen Street East and De Grassi Street re-opens, lane reductions may be in place
- 501D Queen bus service will return to operating between Neville Park Loop and Church Street.
- 72A Pape and 503 Kingston Road buses will return to operating on Queen Street East between Broadview Avenue and Carlaw Avenue, to their regular routes.
- 505 Dundas streetcars will continue to divert both ways via Broadview Avenue, Gerrard Street East and Coxwell Avenue. The route will be shortened and end at Kingston-Queen Loop.
Transfer Points
- Customers transferring between the 501L Queen replacement bus and 501 Queen streetcars should do so at Queen Street West and Dufferin Street.
- Customers transferring between the 501 Queen streetcars and 501B Queen replacement bus should do so at Queen Street West and McCaul Street (if travelling eastbound) and Queen Street East and Broadview Avenue (if travelling westbound)
Other routes operating along Queen Street East
- 503 Kingston Road replacement buses are operating seven days a week along via Queen Street East, Kingston Road, to Bingham Loop.
- Boarding any westbound streetcar or bus on Queen Street East between Broadview Avenue and Kingston Road will connect you to Line 1 Yonge-University.
Stop removal
Note: 501 Queen streetcars are not operating between Roncesvalles Avenue and Long Branch Loop, due to the ongoing King Street, Queen Street, The Queensway and Roncesvalles Avenue (KQQR) project. 501L Queen replacement buses will continue to operate between Long Branch Loop and Dufferin Street.
- 501D Queen / 301 Queen buses will divert both ways via Broadview Avenue, Dundas Street East, Carlaw Avenue and Queen Street East, to their regular routes.

504/304 King
504 King streetcars will not operate on Dufferin Street between King Street and Dufferin Gate Loop due to construction. Customers can board a 29/929 Dufferin bus from Dufferin Gate Loop to connect with 504 King streetcars. 504B King streetcars will extend on King Street to King-Queen-Queensway-Ronsesvalles (KQQR) intersection. Service levels will not be impacted as a result.
Extra service will be provided between KQQR and King and Parliament streets in the morning and afternoon rush hour.

505 Dundas
There are a number of service changes affecting this route.
September 3 to 22: 505 Dundas streetcar service replacing 501 Queen streetcars on Queen Street East from Broadview Avenue to Neville Park Loop, due to a change with Queen Street East and De Grassi Street intersection construction timing
- Customers heading east to Neville Park Loop should board a 505 Dundas streetcar at Broadview Avenue and Queen Street East. 505 Dundas streetcars will not appear on transit apps in the Queen East area, but service will operate every 10 minutes.
- Customers heading west to Roncesvalles Avenue, or downtown can travel on a:
- 503 Kingston Road replacement bus between Bingham Loop and King and York streets;
- Transfer from a 505 Dundas streetcar at Broadview Avenue and Queen Street East to a 501B Queen replacement bus to John Street, and then transfer to a 501 Queen streetcar to Sunnyside Loop.
- The eastbound stop at The Queensway and Glendale Avenue East remains out of service.
- 501B Queen replacement buses will continue to operate between Bathurst Street and Broadview Avenue. Customers can transfer to Line 1 at Osgoode Station, or walk approximately 5 minutes to Queen Station, which remains open despite the closure between Bay and Victoria streets.
- From 2 a.m. September 23 to 4 a.m. October 8, 2023, new 501D Queen buses will operate between Neville Park Loop and Church Street. 505 Dundas streetcars will no longer operate on Queen Street East between Broadview Avenue and Neville Park Loop.
Note: 501 Queen streetcars are not operating between Roncesvalles Avenue and Long Branch Loop, due to the ongoing King Street, Queen Street, The Queensway and Roncesvalles Avenue (KQQR) project. 501L Queen replacement buses will continue to operate between Long Branch Loop and Dufferin Street.
September 23 to 29: Intermittent lane reductions on Queen Street East between McGee and De Grassi streets
- 505 Dundas streetcars will divert both ways via Broadview Avenue, Gerrard Street East and Coxwell Avenue. The route will be shortened and end at Kingston-Queen Loop.
September 24 (12 a.m. to 11:59 p.m.) Queen Street East will be closed to all vehicle and pedestrian traffic between DeGrassi and McGee streets
- 505 Dundas streetcars will divert both ways via Broadview Avenue, Gerrard Street East and Coxwell Avenue. The route will be shortened and end at Kingston-Queen Loop.
September 29 (10 p.m.) to October 2 (4 a.m.): Intersection closed to all pedestrian and vehicle between McGee and De Grassi streets
- 505 Dundas streetcars will divert both ways via Broadview Avenue, Gerrard Street East and Coxwell Avenue. The route will be shortened and end at Kingston-Queen Loop.
October 2 (5 a.m.) to 8: Intersection at Queen Street East and De Grassi Street re-opens, lane reductions may be in place
- 505 Dundas streetcars will divert both ways via Broadview Avenue, Gerrard Street East and Coxwell Avenue. The route will be shortened and end at Kingston-Queen Loop.
Ongoing 505 Dundas route diversion
- Broadview Avenue will be closed to bus and streetcar traffic from Danforth Avenue to Gerrard Street East until November 2023.
- 505 Dundas streetcars will extend to Kingston Road and Queen Street East via Broadview Avenue and Queen Street East
- 501 Queen streetcars continue to serve Dundas Street between McCaul Street and Broadview Avenue.
Alternate service includes
- 65 Parliament buses from Castle Frank Station to Dundas Street East and Parliament Street.
- 506C Carlton buses from Castle Frank Station to Gerrard Street East and Broadview Avenue, serving Hennick Bridgepoint Hospital and East Chinatown
- 72 Pape buses from Pape Station to Queen Street East and Carlaw Avenue where customers can transfer to 505 Dundas or 501 Queen streetcars
- Customers may also consider taking Line 2 Bloor-Danforth to Bloor-Yonge Station and travel south on Line 1 Yonge-University.
Bus service will be restored on Broadview Avenue as soon as we can safely operate.

506/306 Carlton
Effective September 3, 2023, 506 Carlton streetcars will return to Main Street Station.
Customers travelling to Hennick Bridgepoint Hospital
506C Carlton replacement bus will be removed from service now that construction at Main Street Station has ended. Here are some alternate routes to the hospital:
- From Sherbourne Station, take the 75 Sherbourne bus. Transfer to an eastbound 506 Carlton streetcar at the Sherbourne/Carlton/Gerrard intersection. Customers can exit at Gerrard Street East and Blackburn Street, or Gerrard Street East and Broadview Avenue.
- From Queens Park or College stations, take the 506 Carlton streetcar and exit at Gerrard Street East and Blackburn Street, or Gerrard Street East and Broadview Avenue.
- From Pape Station, take the 72 Pape bus and exit at Gerrard Street East. Transfer to a westbound 506 Carlton streetcar and exit at Gerrard Street East and Broadview Avenue.
- From downtown, customers can also board an eastbound 501B Queen bus from Osgoode Station and exit at Gerrard Street East, west of Broadview Avenue.
- 121 River-Esplanade buses will continue to operate near the hospital, stopping on Gerrard Street East west of Broadview Avenue
Ongoing:
506 Carlton streetcars will divert to Dundas West Station, via Dundas Street, due to watermain work on Howard Park Avenue.

503 Kingston Road
The route map and schedule for the 503 Kingston Road is unavailable at this time. 503 Kingston Road buses will operate every 10 minutes until 8 p.m. Please note that 503 Kingston Road buses will not show up on your transit app until July 30, 2023.
Service daily until 8 p.m.
- 503 Kingston Road replacement buses will operate between York and Richmond streets to Bingham Loop, seven days a week until 8 p.m.
Service after 8 p.m.
- 503 Kingston Road buses will not operate after 8 p.m.
- 505 Dundas streetcars will provide service from Queen Street East and Kingston Road to Bingham Loop.
- This service will be in place until Saturday, July 29, 2023. On Sunday, July 30, 2023, the 503 Kingston Road service will operate all day seven days a week on its regular route.

512 St Clair
Starting Sunday, September 3, 2023 multiple construction projects will take place along St Clair Avenue and at St Clair West Station, requiring 512 St Clair streetcars to be replaced by buses from St Clair Station to Gunns Loop, until mid-2024. During this time, stops will be served at the curbside along the route. Bus service at St Clair West Station will also be impacted in the following ways:
33 Forest Hill and 126 Christie
Buses will not enter St Clair West Station. There will be no change to routing or service levels.
Board 33 Forest Hill buses on the south side of St Clair Avenue, outside of the station.
Board 126 Christie buses on the north side of St Clair Avenue, outside of the station.
90 Vaughan
90 Vaughan will divert both ways to Bathurst Station, via Vaughan Road and Bathurst Street.
To access St Clair West Station on Line 1, southbound customers can use a temporary stop on Vaughan Road, north of St Clair Avenue, and walk approximately 5 minutes to the station, or transfer to an eastbound 512 St Clair replacement bus at Vaughan Road and St Clair Avenue West.
The northbound 90 Vaughan stop is on Vaughan Road, north of St Clair Avenue.
The 312 St Clair night bus will continue to operate on its normal route, but will not enter St Clair West Station. Customer access to St Clair and St Clair West Station will not be impacted and subway service will continue.
