Surface station features

The eastern part of Line 5 runs at-grade like the streetcar network between Sunnybrook Park Station and Ionview Station, except at Don Valley and Kennedy stations which are both underground.

All surface stations are accessible and have:

• Level boarding
• Covered waiting areas with benches and lighting
• Passenger Assistance Intercom
• New vehicle arrival time screens
• PRESTO payment machines
• A physical barrier between vehicular traffic and bike lanes

At all surface stations, customers use off-board fare payment devices to “tap on” before boarding at any door – “tap off” is not required. For more information, visit our webpage Fare devices and payment.
