Commercial or private venue rentals on the TTC

Whether you're planning a private event, a unique gathering, or a commercial event, the TTC offers a variety of iconic locations to make your event unforgettable. Explore our options and find the perfect setting for your needs.

Booking Process and Timelines:

  1. Complete the TTC Event Rental Application Form at least 30-days in advance of desired event date
  2. A TTC representative will contact you within 10 business days to confirm details and availability. They will provide pricing and a contract based on the details provided in the application form.
  3. Event Planning: Work with our team to plan the logistics, including setup, equipment, and any special requirements.
  4. Submit your Work Plan no later than 14-days prior to your event
  5. Confirmation: Finalize your booking and prepare for an unforgettable event.

Bay Lower Station Information 

  1. Bay Lower is a fully functioning station used on a regular basis for training and rerouting of equipment and trains during regular service and emergency situations, therefore, requests during non-rush hour periods are preferred (i.e. 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and after 7 p.m.). Requests during high-service demand periods, i.e. New Year’s Eve, Toronto Caribbean Carnival weekend, will not be acceptable.
  2. The station is only accessible by stairs and there are no cooking facilities on site. 
  3. Platform dimensions: length - 500ft; width - 33.79 ft.
  4. Maximum occupancy capacity: 300 (includes guests, event and TTC personnel). Capacity may be reduced depending on the size of additional equipment brought into the facility. 
  5. Your event will only be considered if it is private and guests are by invitation only – not open to the general public. No individual or group fees can be charged for attending events held at this facility. 
  6. Guest will have access to two separate washroom facilities, which hold one private stall each. If required, the event organizer can rent porta-potties. This service is not provided by the TTC.
  7. Request must be received in writing no less than 30 days prior to proposed event date. 
  8. For safety and security reasons, all exits and stairwells must remain accessible at all times, therefore, minimum of furniture is allowed on platform level to ensure quick and safe exit in the event of emergency. 
  9. The following items are permissible at the event and must adhere to all legal requirements: 
    • Alcohol and food; 
    • A maximum of 30 liters of alcohol, >30% ABV can be stored in a fire rated room (wine and beer are exempt for this quantity limitation;
    • Helium and regular balloons (for decoration purposes); 
    • Flameless candles; 
    • No more than 10 high cocktail style tables; 
    • Chairs may be allowed pending approval. 
  10. A full work-plan must be submitted including: 
    • Detailed explanation of the nature of the event; 
    • Required access times for load-in, event and teardown; 
    • List of all equipment/decor being brought into the facility; 
    • Outline of electrical requirements to facilitate event activities. All electrical requirements and plans are to be presented two weeks prior to the event for approval by TTC
  11. The organizers/requestors agree to maintain during the term of the agreement, Commercial General Liability Insurance, including liquor liability, of not less than Ten Million Dollars ($10,000,000) coverage. Prior to entry upon the Property the organizers/requestors shall furnish the TTC with a certificate of insurance evidencing of coverage and shall name the TTC as an additional insured.
  12. Organizers/requestors are responsible to sign a legal agreement one week in advance to ensure event details are confirmed and accurate. 
  13. Event organizer can request none, one, or two trains. If alcohol is served at the event, two trains must be present at the station. TTC has the right to change train size request based on subway service requirements. A train will be placed on the track - doors will remain open and can be used for seating.
    Please note that events requiring trains in the station will have until 12 midnight at which time the trains must be cleared and ready to depart Bay Lower Station no later than 1 a.m.
  14. Absolutely no smoking and/or e-cigarettes allowed on TTC property – violators will be dismissed from the property and may be subject to personal fines and/or termination of the entire event. 
  15. The TTC reserves the right to deny or refuse any request that is deemed contrary to TTC’s policies and/or discredit the business or services of TTC, depreciate the value of the goodwill associated with TTC and the services of TTC, or have an adverse affect on the image of TTC or public transit, as a safe and reliable form of transportation. 
  16. Prices quoted include all equipment and staff necessary for stated function. TTC may add additional staff if deemed necessary depending on scope of event. 
  17. TTC will have the final decision on what equipment and personnel are deemed necessary for the safe implementation of the event.
