Lunar New Year 2023 - Year of the Rabbit

Starting on Sunday, January 22, 2023 until Sunday, February 5, 2023, the TTC will be celebrating Lunar New Year, the Year of the Rabbit. Lunar New Year is a yearly celebration to mark the turn of the New Year on the lunar/lunisolar calendar, and is acknowledged across East Asian communities. The TTC has decorated a number of our buses and streetcars in a special Year of the Rabbit design. The designs include messages of happiness and good fortune for the upcoming year in multiple languages including: Chinese, Vietnamese, Korean, Thai, Tibetan, Tagalog, Malay, Indonesian and Mongolian.

Starting on Sunday, January 22 and for the duration of Lunar New Year, customers may see these vehicles along the following routes:

  • 510 Spadina streetcar, along Spadina, through the core of Chinatown
  • 506 Carlton, along Gerrard Street, Chinatown East
  • 25 Don Mills
  • 39 Finch East
  • 102 Markham
