Portion of TTC Line 1 closed this weekend

There will be no subway service between St Clair West and Downsview stations this weekend – May 9-10 – while the Toronto Transit Commission replaces subway track ties, conducts work for the Automatic Train Control system, and installs subway track heaters.

Maintaining subway infrastructure in a state of good repair is critical to ensuring a safe, reliable transit system. While the TTC conducts subway maintenance work overnight, weekend closures are also required to continue work on more complicated and time-consuming work.

Replacement buses will operate between St Clair West and and Downsview stations using the following routing:

Northbound

• From St Clair West Station, west on St Clair Ave., north on Bathurst St., west on Glencairn Ave., north on Marlee Ave., east on Lawrence Ave. to Lawrence West Station, north on Allen Rd. to Yorkdale GO Terminal, north on Allen Rd. to Wilson Station, north on Allen Rd. to Downsview Station.
Southbound

• From Downsview Station, east on Sheppard Ave., south on Wilson Heights Blvd. to Wilson Station, south on Allen Rd. to the 47 B/C Lansdowne bus stop at Yorkdale, south on Allen Rd., east on Lawrence Ave. to Lawrence West Station, west on Lawrence Ave., south on Marlee Ave., east on Glencairn Ave., south on Bathurst St. to St Clair West Station.

A Wheel-Trans vehicle will be available for customers who require accessible transit. Customers can speak with any uniformed TTC employee at either station to make use of this service.

Normal subway service will resume on Mon., May 11 at 6 a.m. The TTC thanks customers for their patience and understanding as it works to improve transit in Toronto.
