Afternoon service update from TTC

Subway service on the Bloor-Danforth line between Jane and Kipling stations will remain suspended for the afternoon rush hour as the Toronto Transit Commission is without electrical power in the area.

The TTC has 70 shuttle buses operating along the line. Customers travelling in the area, however, can expect a long commute home and should plan alternate travel, if possible. Employers are asked to consider sending workers home early to avoid the possibility of no subway service later in the afternoon, as severe thunderstorm warnings and rolling blackouts are real possibilities and may affect service. The TTC also asks the public to reduce their power consumption at home and in the workplace.

TTC staff will be on hand across the system this afternoon to provide assistance and direction as needed. Crews are also busy at Kipling Station, draining water, cleaning the station, and preparing to test equipment once power is fully-restored.
