TTC to announce new litter removal on subway trains

Toronto Transit Commission Chair, Karen Stintz, and the TTC’s Chief Operating Officer and Deputy Chief General Manager, Andy Byford, will announce plans now under way to remove litter from TTC subway trains during regular service hours.

When:             Friday, March 2 – 11 a.m.
Where:            Kennedy Station – platform level
Who:               TTC Chair Karen Stintz; TTC COO/Deputy CGM Andy Byford

The TTC has undertaken a number of new initiatives to improve TTC service and cleanliness across the system. The removal of litter throughout the day, particularly newspapers and coffee cups, makes the TTC experience for our 1.6 million customers a better one. It also helps reduce the potential danger and safety issue of track-level fires or smoke in tunnels.
