Canadian Red Cross to accept cash donations for Haiti relief efforts at TTC subway stations

Canadian Red Cross volunteers will be at five key TTC subway stations starting this Monday, Jan. 18 during morning and afternoon rush hours to collect cash donations for the Haiti relief effort. The Red Cross will continue their collection efforts at subway stations until Friday, Jan. 22.

Volunteers will be accepting donations at Bloor-Yonge, King, Finch, Sheppard-Yonge, and Kennedy stations.

On January 12, Haiti and its capital, Port-au-Prince, were devastated by a 7.0 magnitude earthquake. The already-impoverished nation is in desperate need of aid as the world responds to this catastrophe. The Toronto Transit Commission urges its employees and customers to help in this effort by giving what they can to Red Cross volunteers next week while traveling on the TTC.
