Charges Laid Against Toronto Para Transit driver

Toronto Police, today, charged a man with sexual assault and threatening death after allegations of assault were made to police by a Wheel-Trans customer. The driver of the accessible taxi is not an employee of Wheel-Trans or the Toronto Transit Commission. Nevertheless, these allegations are abhorrent and intolerable. The safety and well-being of its customers is paramount at the TTC.

The TTC has contracts with eight accessible taxi companies in Toronto. Approximately 120 accessible taxis provide transportation to people with disabilities. The TTC is co-operating fully with police in their investigation.
