TTC Monthly Pass

The TTC Monthly Pass on PRESTO provides the same unlimited travel for a month that a Metropass does.

The adult and senior TTC Monthly Passes on PRESTO cost the same as a Metropass. An adult pass is $146.25 and a senior pass is $116.75. A youth and post-secondary student Monthly Pass will be available starting with the September pass period.

If you do not already have a PRESTO card you will need to purchase a card for $6. Cards purchased online at prestocard.ca take 7-10 business days to arrive in the mail. Cards purchased at a Gateway Newstands within the TTC subway stations cost $20. This cost includes the $6 card fee and a balance of $14. If a Monthly Pass is loaded onto one of these cards, it is separate from the $14 balance, which can be used to pay fares on other transit agencies that use PRESTO or on the TTC when a pass isn’t loaded onto a card. This balance does not expire.

Do I have to purchase a TTC Monthly Pass or will my card stop charging me once I hit $146.25 or $116.75?

Yes you have to purchase an adult or senior TTC Monthly Pass on PRESTO to benefit from the unlimited travel for a month.

Can I use my TTC Monthly Pass to pay my YRT/Mi-Way fare on a TTC bus in York Region or Mississauga?

No. PRESTO card customers should not be tapping their PRESTO card on a TTC bus in York Region or Mississauga. Customers should be paying their TTC fare by cash, ticket or token plus a supplement, cash only on YRT and/or Mi-Way fare product. PRESTO card customers should only be tapping their PRESTO card on TTC buses within Toronto.

I’m a senior and want a Monthly Pass on PRESTO. What do I do?

If you are purchasing a senior TTC Monthly Pass online, your PRESTO card will need to already have a senior discount set on it.

To set a senior discount, you can visit any one of the Shoppers Drug Mart locations in Toronto that sell PRESTO cards. You can also come to the TTC’s Customer Service Centre at Davisville Station, 1900 Yonge Street, or visit one of the Gateway Newstand locations in various TTC subway stations to purchase a pre-loaded senior PRESTO.

Please note: you must provide valid government photo ID at the time of purchase to prove your eligibility. Identification from provinces outside of Ontario that clearly display the customer’s age are acceptable.

Once your concession is set, visit prestocard.ca External link to purchase your senior TTC Monthly Pass. Throughout 2017, the locations to buy a card, load money onto it and set a discount fare will be expanded.

How do I sign up for Autorenew?

You can set up and manage Autorenew online through your My PRESTO Account at prestocard.ca. You only have to sign up once and your monthly pass will always be available for the first of each month. Autorenew can only be set up online using your credit card or Visa Debit. If you would like to set up your Autorenew using your bank account (pre-authorized debit), please use a paper form.

If you set up Autorenew in the first 14 days of the month, the current month’s pass will be added to your card and a monthly pass will automatically be added every month. You will be charged for the next month’s pass six days before the end of each month. After that, the next time you tap your card on a PRESTO reader as part of a regular trip your monthly pass will be added to your card.

If you set up Autorenew in the second half of the month, you will be charged for the next month’s pass six days before the end of the month. The next time you tap your card on a PRESTO reader as part of a regular trip your Autorenew contract will be added to your card.

If you want to Autorenew by mail download an Autorenew form from the Forms page, and mail it to PRESTO.
