Kennedy Station

Kennedy Station is slated for traction power substation and fire ventilation upgrades as part of the Fire Ventilation Upgrade capital program. Fan units will be required at the east end of Kennedy Station in order to provide tunnel ventilation between Kennedy and the fire ventilation to be provided near Lawrence Avenue.

The current plan is to extract the tunnel boring machine via a shaft east of Kennedy Station, on the south side of Eglinton Avenue, in the vicinity of Don Montgomery Community Centre and Town Haven Place. The tunnel boring machine will be dismantled in the tunnel and taken out in sections, thus requiring an extraction shaft.
