Main Street Station - Bus and streetcar loop closure
What we are doing and why
The bus/streetcar loop at Main Street Station was closed on May 7, 2023 for infrastructure upgrades. Main Street Station will remain open for subway service. Bus and streetcar routes have changed accordingly – please see details below.
Work includes: concrete and asphalt pavement rehabilitation within the bus loop; concrete bus platform rehabilitation, including tactile walking surface indicator; and fencing replacement throughout the loop.
Construction activities may continue to end of November. Construction notices will be provided to the local community as work progresses.
TTC service
*Service details are subject to change.
- 62 Mortimer, 64 Main/87 Cosburn, 113 Danforth/135 Gerrard will continue to serve Main Street Station. Temporary stops will be located on-street.
- 20 Cliffside will be shortened to Victoria Park Station.
- 62 Mortimer will be extended to Victoria Park Station.
- 23 Dawes will be extended to Eastdale Avenue.
- 506/306 Carlton
- During May and June, replacement buses will operate between Castle Frank Station and Victoria Park Station.
- During July and August, replacement buses will operate between Queen Street East/ Coxwell Avenue and Victoria Park Station.
What to expect during construction
- Asphalt and concrete rehabilitation, passenger platform upgrades, and fencing replacement.
- Efforts will be made to keep noise, dust and debris to a minimum.
Work hours and timeline
Normal working hours shall be 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday to Friday and from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Saturday.
