Lawrence Station - Full Station Closure - April 22 - April 24

Effective April 22, 2023 to April 24, 2023

What we are doing and why:

TTC’s Easier Access Program will make subway stations accessible to everyone.

TTC staff have scheduled a closure of Line 1 between York Mills and St. Clair Stations on Saturday, April 22 until Monday, April 24 at 4:00 a.m. The purpose of the closure is for the safety of the public, as major structural work will be undertaken at track level. This is the first weekend closure of Lawrence Station scheduled in 2023 related to the Lawrence Station Easier Access project. In an effort to bundle work, TTC crews will also be rehabilitating the northbound subway platform at Davisville Station.

Surface impact: As this is a full Station closure, buses will not enter Lawrence Station. Customers will be asked to board on-street level.

  • The 52A Lawrence West and 52D Lawrence West will serve the westbound stop on Lawrence Avenue West, at Lorindale Avenue.
  • 124 Sunnybrook and 162 Lawrence-Donway will serve the eastbound stop on Lawrence Avenue West, at Yonge Street.
  • Shuttle buses will be operating to serve Line 1.

What to expect

  • Construction equipment and trucks will be present on the driveways of 3080 Yonge Street and the George Milbrandt Parkette. Demolition will be taking place on track-level within Lawrence Station. Debris removal will take place at a drop-off dumpster within the George Milbrandt Parkette.
  • Overnight work during the closure will take place exclusively within Lawrence Station with minimal disruption on-street level. Overnight work on-street level will involve construction vehicles moving on Yonge Street.
  • Residents may experience noise, vibration and dust related to the work. Efforts will be made to keep noise levels to a minimum.
