King Street West near Sudbury Street - essential concrete repair

March 12 to 14, 2023
Effective March 12, 2023 to March 14, 2023

What we are doing and why

Starting on Sunday, March 12, 2023 TTC track staff will be conducting a concrete repair on King Street West near Sudbury Street. Work activities will include concrete saw-cutting, concrete breaking/removal, and placement of new concrete. This work is required to return the area to a state of good repair prior to streetcars resuming service through this section in the Spring.

Work activities, hours and timeline

  • While most work typically ends by 11 p.m., work of this nature may include periods of around-the-clock work to ensure the sections are prepared for planned concrete delivery and placement.
  • Expected overnight activities include placing new concrete.
  • Concrete is poured in the track area and set to cure. The new concrete requires curing time before the work zone is removed for the resumption of full road use by morning of March 14.

Traffic and parking restrictions

  • Traffic will be reduced to one lane in each direction through the work zone for the duration of the work.
  • Traffic restrictions and the work zone will be cleared once the newly placed concrete has cured adequately for road traffic.

TTC service – 504 King Route

  • 504 King replacement buses will continue to operate through this work zone.

Thank you for your patience as we work to improve transit infrastructure in Toronto.
