Davisville Station - structural rehab of northbound subway platform

Ongoing until 2025
Effective July 2022

What we are doing and why

Over the next few scheduled subway closures on Line 1 between St Clair and Lawrence stations, TTC crews will be rehabilitating the northbound subway platform at Davisville Station.

Note: Because this project requires access to subway track level, for safety, crews can only conduct work when subway service is not operating. In addition to scheduled subway closures, overnight work on weekends (outside of subway closures) will be required over the next two years.

Rehabilitative work includes:

  • Repair/replace sections of concrete retaining wall along the northbound platform (underneath the platform)
  • Repair/replace sections of yellow tactile tiles along the subway platform edge (visible from the platform)

Expected work activities and noise

  • Concrete chipping, cutting and removal
  • Placement of new concrete
  • Power tools and some subway work-cars are required to complete this work.
  • Noise will be evident when equipment/subway work-cars are in full operation. Subway work-cars will be required to use their horns from time to time as a safety protocol to alert all crew personnel at track level that a subway work-car/vehicle will move in either direction.

Work hours

  • During scheduled subway closures between St Clair and Lawrence stations, work will take place around-the-clock, with most work conducted between the hours of 7 a.m. and 11 p.m.
  • During overnight work on weekends (outside of subway closures), work will take place after Saturday subway service ends at 2 a.m. and before Sunday subway service begins at 8 a.m.

TTC service

There are no expected impacts to subway service or the northbound subway platform during operating hours.

Thank you for your patience as we work to improve transit infrastructure in Toronto.
